A Trip To The Big Apple
No matter how many times you may have visited New York City (NYC) earlier, the Big Apple will never fail to
attract you. The reason is that it is such a happening place. If it is not a business seminar that draws you to it
or that Times Square is host to many annual events especially those that occur at the fag end of the year, new
offerings on Broadway do serve to make international tourists yearn for another visit.
New York City is very well connected by the way. Not only can you land up there on a ship that sails straight
into New York Harbor, but the airport in New York serves as an avenue that daily brings in thousands of tourists to
the Big Apple.
So what ensures that international tourists make a beeline for New York City every year and that every other
tourist who visits is not on his/her maiden visit? Part of the reason is that New York City serves as the major
entrance point to the US, but more because of the uniqueness of the many tourist attractions that beckon in their
own way to international visitors there. Some of these include the following.
The Empire State Building - This 381 meter high building in New York City serves as the vantage
point for a 360 degree view of the panoramic vista to behold from atop the 86th floor of the building. Tourists
flock there in huge numbers now that the twin iconic World Trade Center towers have been razed to ground zero
during the 9/11 terrorist strikes.
Metropolitan Museum of Art - For art lover tourists, except Paris, this Museum contains the
largest collection of great Impressionist paintings made in the 1800s and 1900s. The Museum is also famous for its
collection of ancient Egyptian art that tries to provide you a glimpse of its majestic temples. If you wish to
avoid the ticket line you need an Explorer Pass at this great Museum for you to spend time admiring the art work
that you love most.
Statue of Liberty - This icon of American Independence not only serves to remind the world of
the free spirit inside most Americans, it also portrays the dominance of American enterprise to people at large.
All of 151 feet in height and built on Liberty Island, it looms majestically against the New York Harbor
horizon.
Other important tourist attractions in NYC include the Rockefeller Center, St. Patrick's Cathedral, and of
course Central Park, which is very much on any tourist family's itinerary. And yes, then you have plays on Broadway
that is host to musical offerings of drama and theater art forms.
